CommentLake Tahoe Vicinity
DescriptionLover's Leap is the premiere climbing area near Lake Tahoe. Not only is the granite superb, but the climbs are long and well protected. The area is know for its, "Dike Hikes". These natural features are thin, horizontal rock ledges every 4 to 6 feet that give you a unique climbing experience. There are over 200 climbs in this area ranging from 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.9, 5.10 to 5.11c. See "RockClimbing.com":www.rockclimbing.com/routes/North_America/United_States/California/Lake_Tahoe/Lovers_Leap/ for more information. To see "Dike Hiking" in action, check out Dan Osman's classic "video":video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8876430955347290789&q=rock+climbing of Bear's Reach (5.7).
